Real Wedding Assisi

Real wedding Assisi - Hannah & Matteo from Austin, TX to Assisi for their destination wedding in Umbria

Real Wedding Assisi – Hannah + Matteo

Hannah and Matteo contacted us last year about photographing their wedding day. We still remember their initial inquiry making us SO excited…Matteo’s parents are Italians but he born in USA. Matteo and Hannah, with their beautiful Bernese Nutella live in Austin, Texas. They spend almost every summer in Italy and they dreamed an Italian wedding surrounded by their families and their friends. When they were in Italy we spent an hour together for their consultation and ended up talking about so much more than just their wedding photography. The way they described their wedding seemed like they were describing our dream wedding day! This day was so special for so many reasons and we can’t believe we’re finally getting to share it on the blog!

We started the wedding day in the bridal hotel, Brufani Sina Hotel, in the Perugia city centre.

We walked into the getting ready space and it looked like a dream. Big windows and girls everywhere 🙂

The bridesmaids were wearing beautiful blue dresses and listening to the best getting ready playlist. Everyone was buzzing with excitement and we just knew it was going to be a perfect day from the very start!

This is the view from Hannah’s room…

Located in a panoramic position in the heart of Perugia, the Sina Brufani boasts an ancient tradition in the luxury hospitality, and from 1884 it is the home of royalty and celebrities from all over of the world. Since then it is the only 5-star hotel in Perugia, and some parts of the Hotel are protected by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage

Just in front of the Sina Brufani Hotel, in the heart of Perugia, a charming antiques flea market takes place every fourth Sunday of the month. You may stroll around the many stalls and shop for antiques and vintage items.

Meantime in Assisi…

We LOVE Matteo’s style! He looks like Don Draper!!!

They chose to share a First Look before the ceremony to spend time together. We LOVE when couples ask us a first look.

Couples should consider the first look for more than just the practicality of timing. It’s a great decision for couples who want to spend some quiet time together before the ceremony. If you’re nervous, having a first look and seeing your partner is a great way to ease that feeling.

Thank to first look we had enough time for Bridal Party and Family formals

The people they surround themselves with couldn’t have been sweeter or kinder or made us feel more welcome.

Castello di Petrata in Assisi was the perfect backdrop for Hannah and Matteo’s big day and for their superb dinner under the stars. Eleonora from DreamOn brought the day to life with a color rich palette filled with blues, yellows and orange tones.

The ceremony view was breathtaking on Umbrian hills and on Assisi. The huppa was surrounded by white chairs and a profusion of flowers.

The surroundings were obviously stunning, but what struck us was how beautiful everyone in attendance was, inside and out. From their bridal party, to their family, to their guests, every interaction we had made us feel so thankful to serve couples like Hannah and Matteo.

We found some spots for their portraits around the castle.

The personalization of the al fresco dinner included individual place settings and a special gift from the newlyweds, a egg holder in Deruta’s ceramic!

During the dinner the guests shared their favorite memories and sentiments with the new married couple. Cristina joined Eleonora to design stunning floral displays for the Wedding Ceremony and reception, as well as lush bouquets for Hannah and her bridesmaids.

Golden hour. Have you heard of it?

Golden hour wedding photos is something to take into consideration as you’re plotting out your wedding day, but don’t fret if golden hour happens several hours after you’d like to take photos.

One way to take advantage of this light is to take group photos after the ceremony earlier in the day, and then sneak away with us for a few after dinner portraits in that magical light.

During the golden hour, the light is softer and less harsh than when the sun is higher in the sky, meaning we will have a beautiful soft glow and you can often take advantage of those gorgeous sun flares.

To end the evening, guests were treated to a spectacular party by Alma Project team.

Hannah and Matteo, we love you both so much. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of the most important moments of your life. You’re officially Mr. and Mrs. Pacifici! One team! There are so many exciting chapters ahead. So many pages to write. We can’t wait to see how they all unfold. If they’re anything like the time we’ve already had together, they’ll be full of fun and adventure (with Nutella, of course :D)!!!
